Amelia's Hello Kitty Birthday

Amelia's birthday was on a Sunday, which was nice in a way because it freed up our entire Saturday. Sundays are generally pretty laid back, so it was easy to work a birthday party into our schedule.

Sweet birthday girl, AMELIA :)

Amelia's birthday was in an office space on Union Street. There were lots of fun things and stations for the kids to do: toddler-sized hula hoops, Hello Kitty coloring station, puzzles, and Hello Kitty tattoo station.
Do you reckon she liked the hula hoops?

Snacks were thoughtful, in that they were healthy: cereal snack mix, carrots and celery with ranch, melon fruit salad. There was also juice and water for the kids.

I was so impressed with Kathryn's (Amelia's mom) artistic ability: She made Amelia's birthday dress, embroidering her name on it herself, and making and applying the Hello Kitty applique on the dress as well. She also made the Pin the bow on Hello Kitty game herself, cutting the bows out of foam and writing each child's name on their bow.
Watching Miss Kathryn make bows for Pin the Bow on Hello Kitty!

Anna Claire's turn to pin her bow. She KNOWS where the bow goes.
I would say, aside from cake (were they ever ready for some Hello Kitty cake!) the highlight of the party seemed to be those hula hoops. There were four hula hoops, and about 10 kids. I'd say the majority of tears shed and disputes were over those hoops. I guess lesson for me to learn, be sure to have enough for everyone of something at a party. Also, I tracked down one of those toddler hoops the next day and Dollar Tree. SCORE! Anna Claire loves it and plays with it daily.
Ready for some cake! Did Kathryn make that banner too? Geez. My new hero.

YAY! Clapping after singing happy birthday song.

CAKE! Yes!
Love the expression on Amelia's face.
This is sweet of Maggie Moo and Amelia. You can see both girl's tattoos in this pic too :) Again, Kathryn MADE that dress.
I am actually writing this on a Thursday following the party, but dating the entry June 3 for chronology's sake.
