Kindergarten screening

We had Anna Claire screened to possibly enroll her at the academy.

When she was asked what daddy did for a living she said, "My Daddy is the best cook in the world. He made frog last night!"

Easter

This Easter was far different than any Larry and I had experienced and so fun for the children.

We had been invited to family and holiday events at his cousin Kelli's many times but never actually gone. So happy we did this year. I have never been made to feel more welcome in someone's home.

Kelli's daughter Kristin greeted us and took beautiful pictures of the girls in their Easter dresses. She also made them the most adorable Easter baskets that they can use every year. They have tutus on them and are so precious.

The food was bountiful and amazing. I was introduced to an eclair dessert I had never had before but plan to eat many more in this lifetime! So yummy!

The Easter egg hunt was so fun for the kids and they even had prize eggs. AC found 3 and got to pick out 3 prizes. They had so many prizes picked out that were so thoughtful of what a four year old girl might like! So many art prizes and Sofia the First and Disney princess ones.

They even filled the girls baskets with thoughtful little toys for each.

And they took such good care of me with Madeline. Providing a place to nurse, holding her when she cried so Larry and I could fix plates and eat.

I pray one day that I'm able to open my home this way and be so hospitable to others. My standard has been raised!

Freddie is in heaven...

Larry: Anna Claire, that's the car Freddie will ride in tomorrow.

AC: And it even flies!

Me: I don't think it can fly, Honey.

AC: Then how will Freddie get to heaven?

Of course we told her he was already there!

"That's Freddie at the top. He's in heaven watching Grandma and me."

Kids say the darnedest things...

(This first one is actually kind of sad, but cute also.)

Anna Claire said she was making a card for Freddie because he had Kansas (she meant cancer.)

We passed Chipotle Mexican Grill the other day and she read the sign and said, "Daddy, we've been to chip-ah-tul before!" That is how you would pronounce it phonetically! Little reader!

We were playing sidewalk chalk and I wrote my name (see pic below):

Anna Claire said, "No no, Mommy. Let me show you how to make a proper 'y'." Then she drew this:

I got schooled. ;)

Anna Claire asked, "Will Pop have to wear a hospital gown at the hospital?" I told her he would and she hollered, "No!! I don't want him to wear that!"

Anna Claire said she did not want to eat downstairs last night because she was too sad Pop wouldn't be eating with us.
