Living Christmas Tree and Christmas Tree Farm

Living Christmas Tree
Friday night, despite how exhausted we all were, we dragged ourselves out of the house to see the Living Christmas Tree at Hilldale Baptist Church. Best decision we made all week. I had been as a child, but didn't truly realize how magical it all was until witnessing the smiles on my own child's face, her hand-claps, and her spirited "Yays!" It was priceless.

She loved hearing the orchestra, the Christmas carols sung by the choir sitting inside the gigantic Christmas tree, and seeing the baby Jesus and the live nativity. This will most definitely be added to our last of family Christmas traditions.

Anna Claire loved "the Star."

Baby Jesus! When the baby started crying, Anna Claire called out, "Baby Jesus want Mommy!"  And when the actors stepped offstage, Anna Claire hollered, "Where Baby Jesus go?"

Anna Claire's only complaint was, "It's too loud!"

Erin's Farm
Saturday we drove out to Cunningham to Erin's Farm. It is a Christmas Tree Farm. What a great (albeit cold) experience!

Anna Claire was thrilled to run up and down the rows of Christmas trees, large and small. She loved examining the branches, pine cones, and finding tree stumps and standing on top of them.

Then, she got that look on her face. She was pooping. Well, we did what we had to do. It wasn't fun for any of the parties involved, but we got her all cleaned up. Thank goodness she was wearing a Pull-up.

You get pretty cold during a diaper change in thirty degree temps, so we did take the owners up on their hot chocolate offer and warmed ourselves by the bonfire. They also offered a hayride, but Anna Claire was not up for it, and honestly, neither were we because we didn't really bundle up as much as we should have.

In this pic she was saying, "Mommy, you takin picture of me?"

Christmas tree forest. You pick which one you want and can either cut it down yourself, or they will do it for you.

Having a ball!

Again, I see this being an annual event for our family. We might even go back again before Christmas!

  1. Love the Living Christmas tree! This is the first year the kids did not participate in it. Is has been a nice break, but we missed it.

  2. I wondered if any of the costumed kiddos were yours!

Larry had never been and I could tell he really enjoyed it. Everyone around us enjoyed watching AC's reaction to it all. She had a ball! :)
