Despite having a double ear infection, Anna Claire has been very energetic and playful today. Adding to the challenge, we have been home-bound since the car is the shop. Here are some of the things Anna Claire has done today in spite of this:
1. Made Frosty the Snowman out of play-doh, while referring to his description from the 1972 book for accuracy. I made the three different sized snowballs, corncob pipe, button nose, and two eyes made out of coal, and AC made his shiny top hat, scarf, and warm red mittens.
2. Made play-doh garland to put on her own small personal tree. You would think this would be messy, but it really wasn't.
3. Played with old ornaments (plastic shiny balls). We sorted them by color, counted them, and knocked them around the room, pool ball style.
4. Made a picnic/tea party for snowman friends. See pic, left. So sweet.
5. Ran around the room with a jingle bell, singing "Jingle Bells" (the whole song)
6. Read books with Mommy.
7. Played Silly Putty with Daddy.
8. Played with stickers, "decorating" even more of our furniture. ;)
9. Traced Anna Claire's handprint several times to make a Christmas tree craft
10. Had fun drawing on the back of her giant-sized Kai' Lan coloring book pages. She loved the large paper. Hmmm....maybe Santa will bring her a giant pad of drawing paper??
11. Played for a half hour with the sticky paper that surrounds the stickers on a sticker sheet. Loved tearing it into pieces and using it as sticky tape and to "decorate" the room. I must take pictures of said decorations.
12. Watched Caillou holiday DVD
13. Had hot chocolate with marshmellows
14. Watched Charlie Brown's Christmas DVD for the first time. Loved it! She pronounces most everything clearly now, but insists on calling Snoopy, "Noofy."
15. Was worried about our car as if it were a family member. MANY times today she would ask, "Mommy, Car OK? Car don't feel good. I don't feel good either, Mommy. Car need doctor. Is car workin', Mommy? Car gonna be OK, Mommy?"
16. Smelled about a dozen candle scents at Hobby Lobby. We made a pitstop there before going to Wyatt Johnson to get our car.
17. Cried out, "No more McDonalds!" When we drove past and answered our usual, "Not today," when she asked if we could go.
18. Ate really well. She wolfed down roasted chicken, broccoli, and mashed potatoes for lunch. At dinner she ate up her crawfish pasta.
19. Made up yet another medley all in one breath: Humpty Dumpty had great fall, Little Peep lost sheep, Jingle Bells Jingle Bells Jingle all way, Oh what fun is to ride in one horse open sleigh. Roly Poly, Roly Poly, lay them in your lap.
20. Was a Daddy's girl. When he was in the room, she really wanted nothing to do with me. I am working on how to be ok with this, but hoping it's just a phase.
